Dear Parents/Carers,
This week you would have received your child’s Semester 1 report. If you have anything at all from the report that you wish to discuss with your child’s teacher, you will have an opportunity at the 3 way learning conversations next term. You will be asked to book a time during the first week back next term.
Last Thursday, our Year 6 students travelled to St Martin de Porres School for the first day of the Journey to Emmaus program. The Journey to Emmaus program involves Year 6 students across 5 schools in our region: St Bernadette’s, McAuley, St Martin de Porres, Christ the King, and Stella Maris. Students have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, interact with other Year 6 leaders, reflect upon their own faith journeys and spiritual formation, and express their anticipations, fears, doubts and goals as they begin to transition towards secondary schooling. The program is led by staff across the 5 schools as well as some Youth Ministers. It was wonderful to see the way our students interacted with the peers and represented the school positively throughout the day. The program has two more days scheduled over Term 3 and Term 4.
Our Term 3 receptions had their final transition visit this week. They are a delightful group of young people who already feel they belong to our community. When they start next term along with 2 new students in other year levels our total student enrolment will be 203, 99 more than at the same time 5 years ago! One of the reasons for this significant growth is our ever-growing reputation in the community, and the very positive messages you, the parents, share with others in the wider community.
As the term draws to a close, we sincerely thank you all for your on-going support and genuine partnership. The three of us feel genuinely blessed to be part of such a calm, vibrant and respectful community. We trust you will get to spend some quality time with your beautiful children during the holiday break.
God bless,
Matt, Michelle and Ray
Celebrating our young Musicians at St Bernadette's!
I am thrilled to share the success of our young musicians at our recent Instrumental Evenings! Over two evenings in week 9 and 10, our vocal, piano, guitar and drum students performed for staff, fellow musicians, and their families. Students performed with such courage and confidence and showcased their dedication and growth as musicians brilliantly! We are immensely proud of their achievements!
We extend our ongoing gratitude to our wonderful music tutor's Vikki, James and Gabriel, for their guidance and encouragement in nurturing our students' talents.
I'd like to extend a special thank you to the families in our community for continuing to support their child's musical journeys at home.
Thank you to all who attended our Instrumental Evenings! We look forward to the St Bernadette's Ensembles presenting a music evening early next term... stay tuned for details!
We are blessed to be a part of a school community at St Bernadette's where music is both valued and thriving!
