What a wonderful week we had last week celebrating Book Week. Our parade and assembly were extremely well attended, thank you to all of our parents/carers that were able to come along and join in the fun. Our Book Fair was also very popular, and we are pleased to let you know that we received $750 worth of brand-new books for our library due to your generous support. Thank you!
Recently, a large number of our students performed at our Ensemble Showcase evening. It was fantastic to hear our Choir, Praise Squad, Band and other ensembles demonstrate their musical talents and perform in front of their families. It is clear that Mrs Turnbull puts a great deal of effort into practising with and preparing these students, which is a credit to her. Well done to Mrs Turnbull and to all the students involved. It seems that as our school population grows, so do the number of children involved in our music program which we love to see!
Please be mindful that, as the weather temperature starts to increase, so does the UV rating. As per our school policy, children need to be wearing their school hats out at play when the UV rating is 3 or above. This UV rating is now being reached on most days. Children who do not have their school hats when the UV rating is 3 or above will need to remain in a shaded area during play breaks. Please ensure your child has their school hat at school so that they can wear them at play.
Next week is Swimming Week! Another huge and joyous week in the life of St Bernadette’s. Please remember that all children are to wear their bathers under their uniform and bring a change of underwear, towel, thongs (or crocs) and goggles (optional) each day. The children will leave their shoes and socks at school and wear thongs to and from the pool. Please send children to school in correct footwear as they will change before they go.
Finally, a reminder that there are no lunch orders next week, but we know they will be extra hungry, so don’t forget to pack a few extra snacks!
